Ghana School Construction Project
Ghana is a hub of international development for Western Africa. Hundreds of International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGO) have established their main offices in the capital Accra. While we have some placements with these larger organizations, our summer programs will focus on projects in cooperation with smaller grass-roots organizations and communities.
Depending on your arrival, you will be working on one of a few school construction projects. Your daily schedule will include mixing cement, pushing a wheelbarrow, building brick walls, basic carpentry and other general labor. The site is supervised both by our Project Coordinators and by several local experts who will ensure that our buildings are both structurally sound and culturally appropriate.
