| Gatorade was first developed in the University of Florida to help their football team stay hydrated. From these humble roots, this drink is now the most researched sports drink available. The success of Gatorade is rooted in their well-researched product, but their popularity continues to grow from their commitment to supporting youth sports and initiatives such as our volunteer programs. | |||

Youth Summer Volunteer
Our Volunteer Abroad Youth Summer Programs (16 - 19) are a great opportunity to do something different during your time off. These short term projects have been developed to ensure that a group of volunteers can have a positive and lasting impact in a short period of time.
At the airport, volunteers will be met by a member of our in-country staff. We will transfer back to the BaseCamp Center and complete a thorough safety briefing. This briefing covers everything from safely changing money to using the bathroom and is the first of several orientation and training sessions. The following two days are spent in sessions that cover everything from political history, current events, family life, identifying registered taxis, safely navigating local transportation, managing at the market and effective bargaining. These sessions help to ease much of the tension of fitting into a new country.
On Monday we begin working on our placement. Days on placement generally run from nine to five. Your Placement Coordinator will be on-site to make sure that things run smoothly and to help where needed. After work, we will transfer back either to our centre or to the volunteer camp depending on the project location.
The second weekend in country is free to explore. Meals and optional activities are not included during the weekend.
